Now, you’ll soon come to learn that I am a sucker for a good Priceline sale. 40% off, 50% off… I love ’em. And in many ways, my budget does too! I take advantage of these sales to stock up on some of my most loved items, some good bargains, and a few splurge pieces I’ve been wanting to test out. Late August saw a handy little 50% off haircare sale that I just couldn’t pass up! Come September I’m taking a step down at work in order to focus on my new studies, my mental health, and a little R&R (oh, that’s you!). The unfortunate part of stepping down means a pay cut… which means more mindful spending! Knowing this, I made the most out of the 50% off haircare sale and grabbed some of my favourite products that I know work, and some that I’ve been wanting to test out.
Now my hair isn’t all that fussy when it comes to haircare, so I tend to save on my shampoo and conditioner and splurge on hair masks and treatments. During the sale I stocked up on some of my favourite scents from Herbal Essences, these are a great buy even at retail price, but at 50% off they’re so handy to have. From the regular line I picked up Tousle Me Softly, Colour Me Happy, Moroccan My Shine, and None Of Your Frizzness (that name though!). I also grabbed the Shine collection from the Herbal Essences Naked range (this range claims 0% silicone, parabens, and colourants). The only set from these that I haven’t previously tried is the Moroccan My Shine shampoo and conditioner.. I’m very excited to try this duo as it contains Argan Oil, a favourite of mine when it comes to haircare!
Aside from the Herbal Essences goodies, I also picked up one other set of shampoo and conditioner as more of a treat: the Hydrating Macadamia Oil Shampoo & Conditioner from OGX. I love OGX hair products, but find I go through them too quickly, and for the price ($18.99 a bottle) I can’t always justify it. But at half price, I thought treat yo’ self! and these babies ended up in my basket. They contain macadamia oil, sugar cane extract and bamboo extract, and claim to be ultra-moisturising and smoothing.
The last lot of haircare I purchased were some masks. Now in all honesty, I wanted to grab more… but the Priceline I happened to be at didn’t have the others I was after in stock (that or I’m simply blind and couldn’t find them!). Firstly I picked up one of my all-time favourite hair masks: the Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask. I absolutely love this baby, and will definitely be doing a full review later. It’s something that’s been a constant in my routine for years, so whenever it’s on sale I stock up (this time I bought two… see that restraint!) The other hair masks I bought are from Brite; a company I’ve heard a lot about when it comes to hair colour, but not so much on the mask front. I picked up their Coffee Masque for stressed hair, and their Raspberry & Vanilla Masque for frizzy hair. Both of these masks are vegan and cruelty free – a big plus!
Have you tried any of these products? What should I check out the next time Priceline has a haircare sale?
