The Lip Edit: August

Oh, hey there you. Long time no see! Welcome, to a little sneaky look at my current lip favourites to get us back in the swing of things!

Lip Edit August

For me August is always a big month, especially being the last month of winter (SPRING IS COMING!). It seems to be a transitional month, a time for testing new products and remembering old favourites. At this time of year I’m always seeking hydration and nourishment with the products I’m using, and my lip care is no exception.

My current lip favourites, otherwise known as those things that must be in my handbag otherwise some type of hyperventilation might occur, include to lipsticks, both old favourites, and two repairing items.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in the shade 114 Understudy has been one of my perfect everyday nudes ever since I purchased it back in 2015! It’s a stunning soft peachy terracotta shade in a sheer formula that just makes my lips pop. The formula looks very natural on the lip, and this colour is my perfect everyday lip colour no matter what look I’m going for. It’s super hydrating and the formula has a slight vanilla scent.

Next comes my favourite repairing balm that I class as being more of a medicinal item: Cicaplast Levres from La Roche-Posay. I’m a big lover of all the La Roche-Posay products I’ve tried, and I think this may be my fourth or fifth tube of this outstanding lip balm. It’s paraben and fragrance free, making it great for beauties with sensitive skin. A little goes a long way with this product, and I find that it instantly hydrates and nourishes my lips. This is a must have for me during peak winter and summer weather (dry lips, be gone!).

My next lip care product is a new one, and one I’ve been obsessed with ever since I picked it up. I think the entire beauty world was eagerly waiting the release of Mecca Max from Mecca and for me the first item I wanted to grab was one of their City Slicker Tinted Lip Oils. I picked up two shades from the range, Apricot and Rose. Both are stunning shades, but I’ve definitely been reaching for Apricot a lot more frequently, for those quick fixes on the go. I’ve been very eager to try out a lip oil for a few months now, and at the phenomenal price point of $16.00 AUD I just couldn’t leave these behind! Very eager to try out more of the range!

Lastly, I have been absolutely loving Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lipstick in 501 Blush Basin. It’s my favourite my-lips-but-better colour that glides effortlessly onto the lips, gifting that gorgeous hint of shine all the while nourishing your lips with natural products. I was gifted this product to trial from Beauty Heaven in October last year, and have been using it religiously ever since! If you fancy, you can read more of my BH Reviews here.

A lot has happened life-wise since we’ve last had a chat, most importantly my boyfriend and I have moved! Not just any regular house-to-house move, but interstate! We’ve made the switch from Adelaide to Melbourne, and I so far my biggest impressions is that Melbourne is absolutely freezing, and the drivers are crazy! I know that Adelaide drivers are just as bad, but there’s a certain system especially during peak hour. I’m yet to work out exactly how peak hour works here, it just seems to get crazier and crazier everyday! The most exciting thing that’s coming out of this move is setting up a new house! And that means HOMEWARES! I love me a good throw and a cosy cushion, so I’ll as our space comes together I’ll definitely share some of my favourite spaces with you all!

Has anyone else made an interstate move? What are your biggest tips to make sure your new space feels like you?
